At young age Leon got interested in music when his father played the songs from the 40's, 50's and 60's at home. By the time he was 14 he bought some turntables and a mixer and lost his self completely into turntableism.
Through the years Leon has changed along with the development of music and started to create his own mix tapes. In the late 90's Leon invested in a Roland 808 Groovebox and started to produce his own tracks. It was the start of an experimental journey where he started to understand the basics of writing and producing music.
Due to personal matters Leon didn't spend time on music for over a decade.
When Leon eventually got back on track in 2007, Holmes Ives contacted him 'cause he heard his remix for Jette-Ives and offered to do a collaboration. Later that year the Memnon vs. Leon Pieket remix of In the presence of... was released at OVA Records.
Every now and then a project find it's way to a release. In the summer of 2012 the Canadian chill-out label ICE Media released the track Sunday morning which is an experimental chill-out track with a reggea vibe to it.
In 2013 Leon released his samba production Feel the vibe at the German label Casa Musica. The house production Funky ShivR found its in-house release in the summer of 2015. In the beginning of 2016 Leon his latin american production This is the love got released at Dancelife.
As a DJ behind the decks Leon likes to capture the feel of the funk and grooves of the club life back in the days. With a fair sense of music and dance he'll get you to dance and enjoy the ride every single time.
To get Leon playing at a venue near you just get in touch and ask for the possibilities and availability.
